Staff Coach | FC Copa Academy
A native of Vlore, Albania, Coach Iglir Arapi moved to Queens, NYC at the age of 14 where he has resided since. Coach Iglir joins FC Copa Academy after several years of coaching in the NYC Metropolitan area at various levels, most recently coaching at Manhattan Soccer Club with girls academy teams and assisting with the USL Women’s team. Coach Iglir will oversee a number of FC Copa Academy teams as part of FC Copa Academy Brooklyn as well as assisting with the USL Academy team.
Iglir has played at High School for Grover Cleveland in Queens and Collegiately at the CUNY level with John Jay and Queensborough College. His passion for soccer has extended into coaching, serving as the Head Varsity Coach at The Chapin school for the past five years. Always a student of the game, Iglir holds a USSF C License, and is always looking to improve and grow as a coach. He intends to apply for the USSF B license for the 2023 enrollment of candidates.
