Hector Escobar

Coach Hector joined FC Copa after an impressive nine-year head coaching tenure with his East Brunswick United FC team. During this time Coach Hector had the prestigious honor of being named New Jersey Youth Soccer’s Coach of the Year for 2011. His tenure saw him lead this team to the New Jersey State Cup in 2010, and the New Jersey State NJ Cup US Club victory in 2014. With this victory, the team achieved a #1 GotSoccer ranking in New Jersey, #1 in the Northeast Region, and #1 rank nationally. Coach Hector also served as an assistant coach for the NYPD soccer team, as well as the Queens United Mens club.

Hector excelled as a collegiate player at the City College of NY. As a four-year player, he was named captain in his Junior year, selected to the All-Star City University team four times, ended his career as the school's record goalscorer, and capped it off by being voted into the City College Hall of Fame. Coach Hector makes it known that his passion in life is soccer, therefore, he lives by three pillars of Discipline, Respect, and Humility.
