EDP Memorial Day Classic G04 NL CHAMPIONS!!!
The G2004 National League team does it again! In their previous tournament the girls were able to secure a Championship medal and over the weekend that task was once again accomplished. The group was placed in the top flight (Red) and Group A. They would have to square off with the likes of Liverpool FCIAA MD Academy, Clarkstown SC, Susa Elite and Terryville SC Sky Blue.
Saturday morning the girls tallied 3 goals to Liverpool's 0 to start off their tournament run with a solid win. Next up was Clarkstown FC to which the girls were awarded a 2-2 draw after regulation time was completed. Sunday, last opponent in group play was Susa Elite, the girls held them off the scoreboard and put 6 in the back of the net to get a much deserved place in the finals. After 60 mins of play vs Terryville SC and a 3-1 scoreline the FC Copa girls were crowned once again, CHAMPIONS!!! Amazing job by all the players, parents and their head coach.

"The team was put in an incredibly strong bracket with each team in the Top 3 in their respective state. We competed well, earning a win and a draw in the top bracket. The highlight of the weekend was a thrilling seven-round PK shootout win the girls won to claim semi-finalist." Coach Matty Berman

"We played against great competition, were able to build up the play really well and score some beautiful goals. The lesson we learned is that we need to make sure that we are 100 percent focused every game and every single moment as in these tournaments 1 extra goal you give or 1 extra goal you miss can end up being the reason you don't make a playoff game."
