METUCHEN, NJ - FC Copa Academy has announced the hiring of Jonathan Ward as the Director of Communications for FC Copa Academy. Jonathan joins the staff to oversee the communications of this great club and community. He will also be implementing new content like live shows to talk about what is happening in our community.
Lori Berman, FC Copa Academy VP, stated, “Our FC Copa community is very excited to bring on Jonathan Ward to lead our communications. There are so many good things happening among our teams and players and we are looking forward to sharing more on an ongoing basis! Jonathan is a true professional and he already has shown great enthusiasm for the club and this new role. ”
Jonathan is California-born and raised, he also works in education and also coaches a boys 2014 club in the greater Sacramento area. In 2020 Jonathan joined the UWS as the Director of Community Engagement and Relations and is the host for the league's weekly show UWS Weekly and has since grown the platform adding other valuable shows to the league to help promote and advance women’s soccer. He holds coaching certifications in USSF grassroots programs and plans to obtain his Level D License in the coming months.
“I’m honored to be given this opportunity to play a small part in the club while helping grow the community. The chance to help the club continue to advance the sport nationally at the academy level while providing opportunities to play at the college level and beyond was a big part of why I have decided to be a part of it.” Ward said, “I am excited to have this chance at helping our athletes reach their dreams and market their amazing abilities on and off the pitch.”
