NJYS FUTSAL STATE CUP

This past weekend was very successful for the FC Copa Academy Futsal program during the NJYS Futsal State Cup. Four out of our five teams competing either placed or were crowned State Cup Champions. We wanted to congratulate all of our players and coaches that were involved in making this weekend a huge success and as always, a big thank you to our FC Copa Academy families for your tremendous support. Below are some of the results from the weekend:

B03 Black | 4-0 |  STATE CUP CHAMPIONS

The Boys 03 Black team were impressive on Monday, winning the State Cup Title after going undefeated on the day and scoring 20 goals. Defensively the boys were strong, only allowing a total of 5 goals in 4 games. A great result this year for Coach Roberto’s boys after losing in the final last year. They will look to build on their performance moving forward, as they get ready for Regionals in February.

G06 Black | 3-2 | FINALISTS

After winning the State Cup Title last year, the Girls 06 Black team looked to repeat as champions this year but unfortunately fell short in the finals. The girls went 2 and 1 in the group, scoring 17 goals in just 3 games. They will be heading down to Atlantic City to compete in the Futsal Regionals in February.

B03 Red | 2-2 | 3rd PLACE FINISH

An impressive showing in their second year as a team playing futsal, the B03 Red finished in 3rd place, an improvement on last year’s result when they lost in the Semi-Finals. The boys had a couple of good performances against some of the top teams in the region.

B01/02 Black | 1-1-1 | SEMI-FINALISTS

The B01/02 Black were crowned State Cup Champions last year, but were not able to make it to the finals for the second consecutive year. They managed to score 17 goals in group play, but were unlucky to lose in the Semi-Finals in penalties. The boys will also be heading to the Futsal Regionals in February.
