Aniol’s coaching methodology is deeply rooted in the Spanish football mentality and style of play; focused on technical quality, tactical intelligence, positional understanding, and high game awareness. His teams are built to dominate through possession, quick decision-making, and a strong collective identity, while placing special emphasis on the mental side of the game. He believes that developing confident, disciplined, and resilient players is just as important as technical and tactical growth.
He previously coached at Girona FC in Spain, where he worked with both men and women, while also contributing to the club’s analysis and scouting departments. Also, he developed his career with other Spanish youth academies and served as a head coach for a 5th division team while he was getting the different licenses.
Internationally, Aniol served as Head Coach at FK Metta in Latvia, helping develop multiple players selected for the Latvian National Team at youth level. In the United States, he coached at RCD Espanyol New Jersey Academy, where he was able to understand better the Soccer model worked here.
Throughout his career, Coach Cufí has contributed to the development of professional players now competing at the highest levels, including:
Pau Cubarsí – FC Barcelona & Spanish National Team
Pedro Porro – Tottenham Hotspur FC & Spanish National Team
Álvaro Rodríguez – Elche CF
Unai Hernández – Al Ittihad / Al Shabab
On the women’s side, he has coached players now competing professionally in Spain and England, such as Martina Fernandez who’s playing for Everton FC Women & Spanish National Team.
In addition to his coaching roles, Aniol has held leadership positions as General Manager and Methodological Director, designing academy structures, implementing high-performance training models, and integrating advanced tactical and individual performance analysis systems. His education includes studies in Sports Performance, Business Administration, Tactical Analysis, and advanced methodological training with Girona FC, RCD Espanyol, FK Metta, and Ekkono.
As a former player, Aniol developed in the academy of Girona FC and other Spanish clubs, later he competed in NAIA college soccer in the United States, giving him a strong understanding of both European and American development pathways.
At FC Copa, Coach Aniol Cufí Valeri is committed to implementing a structured, high-level training environment inspired by the Spanish way of playing; developing intelligent, technical, and mentally strong players prepared to reach their highest potential.
