Born and raised in Flatbush Brooklyn, NYC. David Foy joins FC Copa having spent the past decade coaching youth and college soccer in the local New York City area.

He began his career in coaching working with Brooklyn AYSO's tournament teams, before moving to Soccer Stars United (SSU), where he spent 7 years coaching several different teams across multiple age groups. Whilst coaching in youth soccer, Foy spent two years as Head Coach for The King's College (NYC) Women's Soccer team. Growing up as a local-Brooklyn youth soccer player, he played travel soccer for SC Gjoa, playing in the oldest youth soccer league in the US, the CJSL. Foy now finds himself coaching for FC Copa Academy Brooklyn at our home field Aviator, based in Flatbush, Brooklyn, coming full circle coaching in the very area he grew up playing soccer in as a youth player.

Foy holds coaching qualifications from the United Soccer Coaches in the form of the National Diploma and from the US Youth Soccer’s National Youth Diploma. His coaching idols include John Wooden, Rinus Michels, Greg Popovich & Valeriy Lobanovskyi.

“I’m excited to join FC Copa, a club with a history of success both on and off the field in helping kids fulfill their potential. The commitment that FC Copa has made to being a platform from which players can grow into college student-athletes or progress into the professional arena is partly why I jumped at the chance to join the FC Copa family. I am excited to help continue that legacy and grow FC Copa Academy Brooklyn in order to expand opportunities for families within our greater community.”
