Match Competition Assistant Internships

Description: The New Jersey Copa FC Match Competition Assistant Internships provide college credit or community service hours opportunities to Men and Women seeking to gain valuable experience and mentorship through meaningful responsibilities in the day to day operation of the Club.  The position will give participants an in-depth match day operations experience, rotating across the home game schedule to gain experience as team liaisons, referee liaison, security liaison, ball kid supervisor, logistics and special projects. FC Copa seeks applicants who bring exceptional communication skills, a positive approach to all tasks, creativity and a strong work ethic. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Commit to virtual meetings throughout the workweek.

  • Attend all New Jersey Copa FC Home Matches at Saint Joseph High School in Metuchen, NJ scheduled in May, June, July (provided travel with the team to away games if attending).

  • Execute set up and break down logistics plans (pre and post-game)

  • Communicate via two-way radios

  • Participate in post-event & pre-event virtual planning meetings with game day staff

  • Serve in a variety of matchday capacities

  • Liaison with teams, referees, and groups

  • Agree to FC Copa COVID precautions policies (including but not limited to wearing with a mask at events and regular testing conducted by FC Copa)

Commitment and Requirements:

  • Proficiency is google G-suite (gmail, docs, sheets, pages)

  • Understanding of the sport of soccer strongly preferred

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Effective communicator  

  • College credit available if applicable

  • Community Service Hours tracked and recognized if applicable 

  • New Jersey Copa FC matchday apparel provided

  • Candidates receive on-boarding instruction, goal setting and personalized evaluation at the end of the commitment period

  • Candidates are expected to use a personal vehicle to events (other than away games).
