Peter Failla
Staff Coach | FC Copa Academy

Peter Failla brings extensive experience in goalkeeper development to FC Copa Academy, with a strong focus on developing goalkeepers within the club’s NJ West program. With a long-standing presence in the New Jersey youth soccer community, Failla works with players across multiple age groups, helping young goalkeepers build the technical, tactical, physical, and mental skills required to succeed in the position.
As a goalkeeper specialist, Failla’s training focuses on the modern demands of the position, including reaction speed, agility, positioning, shot-stopping, and distribution. He also places a strong emphasis on the mental side of goalkeeping, helping players develop confidence, communication, leadership, and the composure needed to make decisions under pressure.
Failla is also part of the FC Copa USL League Two senior staff, contributing to match-day preparation and tactical work within the club’s senior competitive environment. His involvement at the senior level gives him valuable insight into the demands of the game beyond youth soccer and allows him to bring those experiences into his work with developing goalkeepers.
A longtime member of the New Jersey and New York soccer communities, Failla has been involved in both competitive academy environments and grassroots soccer development. His commitment to the local game extends beyond the field, including involvement in community initiatives focused on creating more opportunities and resources for young players.
At FC Copa, Failla is committed to creating high-energy, high-standard training environments where goalkeepers are challenged to improve while developing the confidence and resilience necessary to thrive in the position. Through his work in NJ West and within the club’s senior program, he helps create a strong pathway for goalkeepers as they progress through the game.
