The spring season is off to an exciting start for FC Copa Academy as several of our teams showcased their talent and determination at recent tournaments. From impressive victories to strong performances, our players have demonstrated their skill and commitment on the field.
One standout achievement comes from our B13 Black FC Copa Central team, who emerged as group winners at the 2024 Union County Spring Kickoff. This accomplishment reflects their hard work and dedication in training, and we are so proud of their success.
Coach Pablo's thoughts:
"It was great seeing the squad performing throughout the weekend, despite the external uncontrollable factors they were there getting the job done! Proving that parents support, commitment, dedication, along with a robust
development program and guidance are the key to take
them on this journey. Looking forward to take the next
challenge moving up a flight on the Spring season.
Congratulations again to the well deserved first place!"
Similarly, our G06 Black FC Copa Central team secured a group victory at the EDP 2024 Spring Classic. Their stellar performance highlights their ability to compete at a high level and represents a promising start to the season.
Coach Matt's thoughts:
"For the 06G, for our first competitive play this spring season we had a very successful weekend. Our performances on Saturday catapulted our overall success in the tournament. We will use this as a way to kickstart our league campaign, which is coming up in the following weeks, including our initial round in the state cup tournament."
Meanwhile, our G10 Red FC Copa West team reached the finals in their group at the EDP 2024 Spring Classic. Although narrowly missing out on the top spot, their strong showing demonstrates their resilience and competitive spirit.
Coach Mike's thoughts:
"For the 10G Red team, this weekend was a solid kickoff to our spring season. Our positive results on Saturday sent us to the final where we faced a well organized A-Game Soccer select team. Our focus now shifts to the EDP league, which begins on April 7th with an away fixture against Clarkstown SC. We're eager to carry the
momentum from this weekend into our league campaign
and continue our pursuit of success on the field."
Additionally, our G12 Red FC Copa Central team also reached the finals in their group at the EDP 2024 Spring Classic. Their journey to the final is a testament to their teamwork and skill on the field.
Coach Yazo's thoughts:
"Amazing weekend for this group as they battled to end 2nd in their group. Showed growth from start to finish. Great attitude from all the players and huge support from the parents on the sideline. Excited to get the Spring season underway!"
