FC Copa Academy Alumna Erin Simon has just signed with the Houston Dash in the NWSL! After stints with Sky Blue FC and West Ham WFC in England, Erin will be joining the Dash through the NWSL’s new allocation money system but the fee paid to West Ham was not disclosed. Erin was part of the FC Copa Academy Real team, arguably one of the most successful teams in Copa history. Simon helped Copa Real win a National Championship while being one of the highest ranking teams in the country.  She was part of the FC Copa Academy Class of 2012 and went on to play at Syracuse University for four years before being picked up by Sky Blue FC.

Erin Simon had a very surprising yet successful rookie campaign with Sky Blue FC, appearing in 18 games, 17 of which she was a starter. She impressed as an outside back during her first season, which ultimately led her to being picked up by West Ham WFC. Erin was a regular at West Ham, starting in 16 out of 22 appearances for manager Matt Beard. “Erin was such a joy to coach. That Real team that she was a big part of gave me some of my proudest memories as a coach. I wish Erin the best of luck in Houston and I know that she will be a great addition to the team,” Coach Roberto Aguas said.
