FC COPA ACADEMY ALUMNA, SYDNEY CUMMINGS, TO PLAY WITH GUYANA

FC Copa Academy Alumni, Sydney Cummings, will play for Guyana in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Sydney is currently a freshman at Brown University after graduating from FC Copa Academy in 2017. She joins elite company of former FC Copa Academy players who have gone on to represent their countries at the international level. This past season at Brown University she earned a number of accolades including Second Team All Ivy honors and earned the team’s Arlene Gorton ’52 Rookie of the Year Award.

Sydney commented on this recent accomplishment saying "It is an honor to represent your country at the international level. I am excited to see the level of play and compete with some of the best players in the game today. FC Copa Academy has prepared me and given me a great foundation to take on these challenges in my career. I am very thankful for that and look forward to helping Guyana qualify for the World Cup."

In her time at FC Copa Academy Sydney played for a very successful Celeste team which went on to be known as the FC Copa Academy Girls 1999/98 Black. Their success was impressive in their time here and Sydney was a pivotal leader and piece to the teams success.

We wish Sydney the best as she heads down to play for Guyana!
