Our 2005B Academy in Brooklyn made the long trip up to Pennsylvania, and were rewarded in doing so. The boys not only finished top of their group, they also did not concede a single goal throughout the weekend.
Bracketed in the boys U17 “Elite” division, the team had their hands full coming up against highly competitive competition.
The boys came out flying in the first game, scoring a total of seven goals to get their tournament off to the right start. As the weekend progressed, the team showed a great defensive display in finishing the final games with goalless draws.
Led by Coach Atkinson, here are his thoughts on how the weekend went:
“The boys are really starting to find their rhythm in possession and understanding how to control the flow of games. We now need to start turning the possession and ball movement into creating more goal scoring chances. There’s a lot more to come from this group in the near future, looking forward to continued success in 2022.”
We look forward to seeing the continued development of this group under Coach Atkinson.
