Our 2005 Boys FC Copa Academy Brooklyn team finished the weekend top of their bracket at the EDP Fall Showcase down in Tuckahoe, New Jersey.
Our Brooklyn boys displayed a positive showing throughout the weekend, conceding only 3 goals in the process. To add to that they were not short of any goals, scoring a total of 8 of them. They went up against tough competition from some of the top teams across New Jersey.
Here is a recap from Coach Atkinson on the weekend:
"The boys did well in their first two games, winning both 3-1 against physical opposition in tough weather conditions. We displayed great work ethic as a team and showed our quality on the ball individually. This led to the team creating some fantastic goal scoring opportunities from open play. We finished the tournament with two wins and a loss but showed our mental strength throughout to top the bracket."
