METUCHEN, NJ - FC Copa announced today that Carlos Paz has joined as Director of Goalkeeping. Paz will oversee the training and personal development plans of all goalkeepers within the Academy. As Director of Goalkeeping, his responsibilities will also include; scouting, pregame preparation and post match analysis on an individual basis.
Carlos brings a wealth of international and professional playing experience to his nearly two decades of training goalkeepers. Paz has represented the Peruvian National Team. Paz has played professionally in Puerto Rico and his native Peru, including a stint with legendary Club Sporting Cristal from 1984-1988.
Carlos’ love for the game has motivated him to take on this role that will allow him to share his playing experience with male and female goalkeepers within FC COPA Academy. Prior to that, Carlos worked with Tab Ramos Goalkeeper Academy. Paz admires the coaching philosophies of Carlos Bilardo and Ricardo Gareca.
“I am happy to be at FC Copa because it is a good platform to drive many goalkeepers to the next level,” said Paz. “My goal is to help players perform at the highest level when they take the next steps in their career.”
