Boys Teams
08 Boys Pre-NL
Coach Angelo Jack
It was a very good performance from the lads during the course of the game. The boys was up for the challenge vs a decent Cedar Stars team. I thought that we worked together collectively on both sides of the ball when we had the legs. I also thought that we executed the game plan very well especially in the first half. Second half we played a high press which is of a more risky game giving up space in behind but I believe if we had won the ball high up the pitch from there defenders we would have a greater reward. They are working hard and starting to show great improvement in understanding their roles and team tactics. Keep up the good work and keep progressing.

It was a fantastic performance from the lads. The boys worked hard and was disciplined on both sides of the ball. It was great to see them moved the ball well with a purpose to play forward. They knew their options and what was expected of them in their roles and positions they had to play in order for the team to function well. When we switched players in different positions they also knew their role in that position which really made everything flow smoothly for the team. Well done lads, keep working hard and continue to learn and grow!

“The Boys 2007 Pre-NL continued their good form this past weekend. After a rain out the day prior, the team took the field again on Sunday. We had a slow start but were able to grab two early goals off a set of good combinations. The opponent was able to get back into the game but the group stuck together and was able to net two more goals in the second half to secure the result”

Boys played against a team who were very fast and strong, gave up a goal in the first few minutes of the game after losing the ball in the defensive third. We had to make some adjustments in defense in order to better deal with the athletic opponents. Boys were chasing the game late in the second half but we were just one pass away, one bad touch away, one successful dribble away from creating a good goal scoring opportunity.

Boys failed to grab their third National League win in a row. It was a very even game with both teams creating chances but our boys weren’t as sharp as usual, being 1-0 down in the first half we chased the game the whole second half by pushing numbers forward to try and grab the equalizer, unfortunate not to find a goal. Boys fought hard until the last whistle but gave up a second goal in the last play of the game as the opponent countered attacked.
Girls Teams
06 Girls NL
Coach Matty Berman
#5 in NJ G06 Had their best game to date in a 2-0 win over #4 STA. The girls knocked the ball incredibly well around the field and kept their composure against a very talented opponent. The girls now have six wins in as many national league games and sit atop the table. Next weekend the group takes on number one in New Jersey Real NJ In the state cup semi final round.

This group of girls continues to be challenged on the field and mentally. We had a good week of training, put a game plan together and went out to play a good STA team who gave us a great game. We improved in areas we had previously struggled. We are motivated, will get back to training this week and anxiously waiting the next game. This is just the start to what this group is capable of.
