FC Copa Coaches & Players Lead Seton Hall Prep to Non-Public A State Championship Glory

FC Copa USL Academy players Aidan Batista, Zach Levy, & Brian Sheehan put the final touches to their Illustrious high school season by winning the Non-Public A State Championship. They defeated No.3 ranked Christian Brothers Academy in the final 2-0.

“That’s one of the hardest offenses we played so to end on this is a highlight and a memory that’s going to be remembered for years to come,” Seton Hall Prep center back Zach Levy

To add to that, the Pirates also won the Essex County Championship and the Super Essex Conference. They maintained a 20-0-1 record throughout the season, scoring a total of 68 goals and conceding only 6 goals. They had 16 shutouts in 21 games, all of which FC Copa player Aidan Batista contributed in.

This was Seton Hall Prep’s eighth appearance in the State Championship, winning it for the fourth time this year.

The Pirates were led by FC Copa Coaches Marty Berman, Matty Berman, & David Snyder.

Here is what Coach Matty had to say about this historic achievement:

"This season was of course rewarding and historic because we were able to capture the state, county, and conference titles, however I am probably most proud of the growth in our players both as a team and individually throughout the year. We peaked and performed when it mattered most, and grew and matured from every match and session. Our Copa players - Aidan Batista (GK), Brian Sheehan (MF), and Zach Levy (D) were integral parts to our success. Our sidelines were heavily influenced by the club, as our Head Coach, Marty Berman, myself, and assistant Dave Snyder all coach or have coached at FC Copa on the Girls side. Dave's daughters also both came through the club, Jacqueline (Holy Cross), Olivia (G06 Black).”

As an illustrious high school season comes to an end, we want to congratulate our FC Copa players and coaches for an amazing trophy-filled season.
