Hannah Villasin commits to Ithaca College!

Hannah Villasin joined us at Copa at U10 and now as a senior in high school, she will be following her dream of playing college soccer! Hannah will be playing for Ithaca College next fall after working hard through the recruiting process to find the right fit for her in both soccer and academics. Hannah is an incredible team player, having just been awarded the “Michael Taylor Award” for the unsung hero of our club at our banquet on Feb. 9, 2019. She cares deeply about her team and this organization, she does not look for individual accolades to demonstrate how much she means to the team and club. Helpful, coachable, positive, understanding and truly an awesome young lady to be around, we are incredibly proud of the person you have become and we know she will see tremendous success as a college athlete! In her time here, Hannah has won numerous tournament, state and regional championships, but what we will most remember is her constant positivity, work ethic and dedication to her team and club.

Hannah shares this with us regarding her years here, “When you feel like stopping , think about why you started! “

Copa helped me realize how passionate I was about soccer. Before starting at FC Copa, I was between two sports and was really considering the other one. However while at Copa , I found that I truly love soccer and could never give it up. And when I’m not feeling as confident , I think back to this memory to help me push through it . Copa opened so many opportunities , especially college-wise, that allowed me to find the best school for me academically and athletically.

My advice to our younger players is to learn all you can from here because it’s only going help you become the best player you can be.

Coach Yazo says of Hannah, “Hannah is a true team player and we know she will add great value to Ithaca College Women's Soccer. Unselfish, caring, a leader, respectful and competitive, she has all the makings of a great college player!”

We wish Hannah great things and we look forward to following you as you play for Coach Mindy Quigg at Ithaca College!
