KAYLA FLYNN COMMITS TO MARIST COLLEGE!

Kayla Flynn, standout on the FC Copa Academy G00/01 National League team hits a new milestone in her career with a commitment to Marist College. Kayla began her FC Copa Academy journey at the age of twelve, and through perseverance and dedication to her craft, has overcome all obstacles, including a potentially career ending injury, to reach her goal. During her soccer career Kayla has amassed quite the trophy cabinet, from individual awards like the All-Conference nod received in 2018 to helping her teams to many placements and championships including back to back GMC conference titles at East Brunswick HS, a National Title and multiple state and regional titles and finals, with FC Copa Academy, not to mention placements at top tournaments and showcase events like Disney, NCFC and Jefferson Cup.

About her journey and commitment to Marist, Kayla had this to say,””

Current G00/01 National League head coach Jonathan Yazo shares his thoughts on Ms. Flynn, “During our first sessions as a team, Kayla really impressed me with her 1v1 skills. I immediately thought this has to be my center mid. This idea was quickly shut down once I got to see her in the backline. Kayla is clever, tenacious, fearless, and athletic. Her technical skills on the ball make her a dangerous threat coming out of the back. Demonstrated during our showcases that she is able to play any position in the back at a high level. Marist have made a great addition to their roster.”

Next year Kayla will be playing under MAAC Coach of the Year, Leigh Howard who will be entering her second year as head coach for Marist. After a 2018 MAAC semifinal appearance, Kayla will no doubt be looking to help the Red Foxes compete for a MAAC Championship and a shot the NCAAs.

We look forward to great things from Kayla, and wish her congratulations and the best of luck as she pursues her soccer career to the next level.
