NEW LOOK FOR NJ COPA FC MEN'S TEAM KICKS UP FOR 2018 SEASON
METUCHEN, NJ - The 2018 season for the NJ Copa FC NPSL Men's Team is off to a fresh start. They had many successes last year, which included winning the league. This win has attracted a number of high caliber player, who we are excited to have. The players have tremendous experience playing in the NPSL and beyond. The new players joining the team are Rodrigo Santiago, Jonathan Yazo, Joaquin Escudero, and Dennis Correa.
Returning captain Rapha Araujo, who plays as a forward for our team was featured on ESPN Top Plays last year. This will be Rapha’s third year with the group. Last year he scored 11 goals along with 2 assists for NJ Copa FC.
Other players that will be returning to the squad is our center back pairing of Nick Sica (Kean University) and Jonathan Firmino (Georgian Court). A solid partnership that is experienced and understands one another well. A key asset to our team is Gerald Cubero a young, energetic, midfielder, who can break down an opponent's defenses with his movements and individual abilities. Other returning players are Angelo Jack, Kevin Veliz, Mike Moreno, and Daniel Pizzimenti.
Head Coach Bill Englishby enthusiastically stated “We are looking forward to another historic year in NJ Copa FC's history. We have a good mix of youth and experience to take into the NPSL season and are looking forward to beginning the campaign on Saturday against Atlantic City FC.”
