Samantha Howard has been a part of FC Copa Academy for 8 years and we have had the privilege to watch her become an impactful, incredibly technical and tactically smart player during her time here. She will bring these talents and attributes to the collegiate soccer field next fall as she will be playing for Coach Patrick Naughter at Montclair State University. As a fierce competitor, Sami has consistently brought success, energy and a tremendous work rate to the field, helping to find success for her team. During her time at Copa, Sami has been a part of countless tournament, state and regional titles, but perhaps most impressive was her critical role as part of the 2nd team in FC Copa Academy history to win a National title in 2017.
Samantha shared this with us, “Over the years of being a player at FC Copa it became more than a soccer club, it became a second family. Since U11 Copa has guided me to becoming to not only a better player but a
better person. From the many coaches and my teammates, I have learned the value of hardwork and respect along with critical teamwork skills that I will take with me through college and the rest of my life. For the younger people out there, do not take this time at copa for granted because it will fly by, listen to what is being taught to you and actually think about it. Lastly, learn from your mistakes. The time you spend here will be full of ups and downs, make sure you cherish the ups, but more importantly, learn from the downs. I cannot thank all the coaches enough for everything they have done for me. I will never forget the time I spent at Copa.”
Coach Roberto says of Sami, “Sami’s leadership has been a critical part of this team for many years and we are so proud to watch her move on to play for a great program like Montclair State! We know that she will have impact there and the sky's the limit for what she can accomplish as a Red Hawk.”
We wish you all good things Sami and always know that you are an incredible part of Copa history!
