New Jersey Copa FC vs Cedar Stars Rush

The home opener for the New Jersey Copa FC USL League Two team commences on Wednesday, June 1st against Cedar Stars Rush.
This will be the third match of the 2022 season for the USL team, and the second time they face off against Cedar Stars Rush.
The last game played by New Jersey Copa FC was against Cedar Stars Rush when they traveled to Fairleigh Dickinson University on May 25, 2022. The game ended with a draw of 0-0 after going competitively into overtime. New Jersey Copa FC held strong for two halves and overtime, however could not pull forward. The home opener will certainly be a competitive match as both teams look to find a way to put up a goal. Head Coach Fernando Barboto states, “We will be better prepared and more organized than the last two games. We are up against a tough opponent, but I think we will show up quite strong.”
Cedar Stars Rush faced the Long Island Rough Riders on Sunday, May 29th. The match ended in Long Island’s favor with a final score of 4-2.
As mentioned prior to the last matchup of New Jersey Copa FC and Cedar Stars Rush, the team is still searching for a win against their geographical rivals. New Jersey Copa FC Sporting Director Roberto Aguas says, “The last match we played was against Cedar Stars Rush, which resulted in neither team scoring. The team has the advantage of rest on their side because while our men had a free weekend, Cedar Stars played a tough match against the Rough Riders. That being said, it will be interesting to see the outcome of this matchup.”
New Jersey Copa FC plays their next game on Sunday, June 5, 2022 on the road against the Long Island Rough Riders. The game will take place at the Mitchel Athletic Complex at 4:30pm.
As this competition is the USL League Two home opener, the team is looking for a supportive turnout of fans.
