Sheldon Parkinson
Staff Coach | FC Copa Academy

Coach Sheldon brings a strong combination of professional playing experience, collegiate coaching, and youth player development to FC Copa. His coaching background is centered on developing players both individually and within a competitive team environment, with an emphasis on tactical understanding, decision-making, and overall growth as a player.
Sheldon currently serves as a goalkeeper coach for both the men’s and women’s programs at Monroe College. He also brings extensive youth coaching experience from Scarsdale Youth Soccer Club, where he has worked with developing players and helped create environments that challenge athletes to compete, improve, and build confidence.
As a former player, Sheldon competed at the professional and semi-professional levels with clubs including the New York Red Bulls, Phoenix FC, New Amsterdam FC, Brooklyn Italians, and Icon FC. His playing career provides him with firsthand experience of the demands and commitment required to progress within the game, which he brings into his approach to coaching and player development.
At FC Copa, Sheldon emphasizes developing the complete player through technical, tactical, physical, and mental training. He believes in creating an environment where players are challenged and held accountable while also being encouraged to compete, take ownership of their development, and enjoy the game.
Sheldon holds a United States Soccer Federation D License and a degree in Sports Management from Mercer County Community College.
Outside of coaching, Sheldon is a passionate soccer fan and lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC. FC Copa is excited to welcome Coach Sheldon to the club and looks forward to the experience and perspective he brings to our players and teams.
