Jef Thiffault
Director of Club Development and Communications
While serving as the operations lead for SUM’s Mexican National Team US Tour, he helped coordinate all PR, broadcasting, game promotion, partnership marketing, security, operations, and competition matters with some of the largest and most famous sporting venues in the USA and Canada for crowds regularly exceeding 40,000 fans. He was a venue manager assigned to the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the project manager for SuperLiga, working closely with the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol and its teams. He was involved with numerous other matches as part of World Football Challenge, InterLiga, Pan Pacific Championship, and other international friendlies in the USA and Canada involving the biggest club teams in the world and national teams from every continent.
Jef Thiffault joins FC Copa Academy as Director of Club Development and Communications with an impressive background in American soccer administration. Upon graduation with a double major in Sports Management and Business Administration from the University of New Haven, he joined Major League Soccer’s League Office where he was part of the Operations Department and Disciplinary Committee. He managed the administration of all game officials assigned to MLS, launched the MLS Reserve Division, and worked closely with MLS league and team staffs on numerous MLS Cups, All-Star games, and other special events, conferences, and projects. He served as Manager of International Operations, where he had involvement in every SUM property. Jef is very excited to leverage his experience in the soccer world to contribute to FC Copa’s continued growth. A Metuchen resident, he brings a built-in understanding of the Copa Way with his children having played for FC Copa since the Copa Minis program.
