Presidents Day Camp, Inaugural Goalie Wars, and 3v3 Tournament Recap

Updated: Mar 5, 2021

FC Copa Academy hosted a record number of over 150 participants at the club’s President’s Day event that took place on February 15th at Metuchen Sportsplex. The day marked the second straight advanced sell out of Copa 3v3 Tournaments.

The morning portion was filled with a day camp filled with boys and girls in the 2011-2015 age groups. In the morning the club also hosted its inaugural Goalie Wars, where both Gavin 2011-2009 and Daniel (2008-2002) won in their respective age groups, coupled with goalkeeper clinics conducted by FC Copa Coaches.

The 3v3 Tournament was held in two sessions; the morning bracket (2006-2003 Birth years) was won by The Goons, and the two afternoon brackets (2010-2007, 2011-2008) were won by The Ninjas and the Superiors.

“Over 150 players signed up to take part in our 3 v 3 Tournament, Day Camp, and Goalie Wars combined, said Director of Programs Craig Smillie. “Our Presidents Day event has surpassed our MLK Day event, and it has been exciting to see our last two events selling out in succession.”
